The Hobby of coin collection collecting the rare, old and obsolete coins
of different times is considered as the extremely educative and fascinating
hobby that has gained immense momentum and popularity in the course of the last
century. There are around 130 types of old coins available across the globe and
among them 40 types of coins are from India. Almost every ruler of India has
issued some unique coins that are available in different types of sizes,
shapes, denominations and weights and in different types of metals like silver,
brass, gold and other different types of metals. After that, notes made of
paper were invented during the time of the British rulers. About the details of the coins and notes The coins of the earlier
times used to be die-struck manually. Therefore, there were not created in the
uniform design and shape. Besides, in the earlier times, the coins used to be
die-struck or cast in only on one side. Thus, these were uniface and marks
incused on the single side. This is the reason why these are known as the punch
mark coins. These types of coins were available till 300 BC. Similarly, in the
very beginning the notes were also printed on one side. These notes were known
as the Uniface notes. Besides, earlier the notes were also available only in
smaller sizes to save the usage of paper. The bundle of these notes was
available in available in 25 packs. and not in the 100 pcs. like the present
time.v
